Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, why do so many ex JW's deny this?
by nicolaou injehovah's witnesses accept jesus as christ, the son of god.
they try, in their own way, to live by his teachings and imitate him.
they pray, read the bible and meet together regularly for worship.. i won't minimise any of the harm and damage they cause but for the life of me, i can't see how anyone can credibly deny that they are christians.. why do so many former jws have a problem with this?

Yes, they are christians, but they are JEHOVAHERS in a much bigger way. Most other forms of Christianity are big on Jesus and the Gospels, but care almost nothing about the childless God of the Old Testament, except when there's a prophecy about his future son. Most other Christians care about the God of the New Testament because he is the father of the big hero of Christianity, JESUS CHRIST. It's all in the name CHRISTIANITY. -

Double speak of the Watchtower
by never a jw insorry, this may have been covered ad nauseam before, but since it is blatant double speak of the watchtower, i felt it would be good to write a reminder of that.
below is an extract where the watchtower makes an effort to point out to the royal commission that among their members there are professionals with higher education, such as doctors and lawyers.
what they conveniently fail to mention is that the wt leadership repeatedly in writing and in approved public speeches discourages, even denigrate the pursuit of higher education.

"At times, Jehovah’s Witnesses are the subject of misconceptions."
What misconceptions???...
that you are against higher education,
that you are as a religious group one of the least educated,
that you advise suicidal victims to pray more, don't fail Jehovah and don't listened to the taunter, instead of advising the victim to seek professional help,
that you encourage homophobia,
that you protect pedophiles and money more than children,
that you promote a persecution complex among your members in order to distrust outsiders including government and media,
that you tailor your Bible to your preconceived ideas.
that you destroy families by prohibiting contact with those whose only "sin" is to use critical thinking skills and research
No, those are misconceptions, those are facts that are proven by the evidence in your speeches, written material, policies, manuals, videos, books, assemblies' lectures.

If you fear trouble, then get rid of the evidence. Files get lost, tablets get stolen or damaged by spilled coffee, or people sit on them.

The Debate Is Over...
by JW_Rogue infor years theologians and historians have researched who the historical person known as jesus was and how much of the biblical account could be verified.
countless books have been written going into great detail.
this has been a controversial subject with some even claiming that jesus never existed.

Who cares if Jesus existed. Can they prove that Jesus is divine and still exists?... Oh shoot, I forgot, the Bible says so. Never mind, I am out of challenging questions. -

Simon,
Who qualifies to be a moderator? Spanish is my first language, so if in the eyes of decision makers I can do a decent job, I volunteer for that job in my spare time.

Sorry, this may have been covered ad nauseam before, but since it is blatant double speak of the Watchtower, I felt it would be good to write a reminder of that. Obviously they don't make any reference to research that points out that JW's are among the least educated and with the lowest income.
Also, I find it so hypocritical that they tell the ARC that JW's seek help from qualified professionals in the areas of mental health. They failed to mention that their version of mental health professional is commonly a window washer whose professional knowledge is limited to tendentious interpretations of the Bible and is in complete submission to the Governing Body.
"Based on their understanding of the Bible’s teachings, Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to respect the government and they do not isolate themselves from human society.1 As was pointed out during the public hearings of the Royal Commission, Jehovah’s Witnesses have as members, amongst others, lawyers, doctors, psychologists, policemen and policewomen, and members of many other occupations and callings.2 When needed, Jehovah’s Witnesses seek help from qualified professionals in the fields of law, medicine and mental health. Most Jehovah’s Witnesses have family members who belong to other religions or who are atheists....At times, Jehovah’s Witnesses are the subject of misconceptions. When examined objectively, such views are found to be distorted or untrue" (Submission on behalf of the WBTS of Australia to the Royal Commission, p 7,8)

New, but needed to vent- thank you :-)
by Danni Jackson ini discovered your website this morning as i was trying to find some information about 'marking'.
you see a very close friend of mine was 'marked' earlier this week and as i know the ins and outs of the situation (as we are close friends) i disregarded the talk immediately as i know my friend is obviously having issues but is no way a 'danger' to anybody else's spiritual health.
basically they are dating a non-believer- hence the talk.

Very funny and informative. She is good. I hope she deals with the Pedophile Protection Program in the future. Hard to make comedy out of that subject, but I hope she helps to bring more attention to it.
